Are You New To MVC?

WELCOME TO MONOCACY VALLEY CHURCH

A place where you can meet some real people and start to make sense out of what God has to do with real life. Monocacy Valley Church is as real as your morning commute and a whole lot friendlier. For over 23 years we've been passionate about serving our community. As a church we apply the truth of the Bible to our everyday lives and share life together as a community.

WHAT TIME IS YOUR SERVICE?

Our worship service is at 9:30 am

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Something comfortable. Most of our folks dress casually, but if you're more comfortable in a coat and tie, you won't be alone. We believe that God is far more concerned with a person’s heart than his or her clothes.

WHERE DO I GO WHEN I ARRIVE ON SUNDAY?

When you arrive you will notice special parking spaces for first time visitors, snag one of these sports or feel free to park anywhere in our lot. As you enter the building through the lobby doors, our Promise Land is located to the right in the gym. If you have younger ones who need nursery care that is to the left just past the foyer area. If you want to head straight into our main auditorium where our worship service is held, the doors to the auditorium are to the left midway into the lobby area. Upon entering, you will be greeted by one of the friendly folks on our Hospitality Team and given a program with information about the morning service. If you have any further questions they will be happy to enter them for you. Please feel free to sit anywhere that you are comfortable. And NO, at no time during the service will be you asked to stand and introduce yourself, or tell a bit about yourself, or offer a short prayer.  We don’t believing in embarrassing anyone.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A TYPICAL SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE?

Our services are relaxed, and the atmosphere is friendly and informal, so our hope is that you will sit back, relax, and enjoy your time with us. Most folks when they enter head to the coffee area or foyer just to the left inside the lobby doors. Feel free to have a cup, we don’t mind if you bring it into worship either. Our service usually begins with a musical prelude as a way of inviting folks to find their seats and begin preparing their hearts to encounter God. After the prelude we take a few minutes each week to update folks on events and news around the church. Our focus then shifts to worshiping the God of our faith through music. The music is generally contemporary but we also enjoy the great hymns of the faith. Our offering  usually occurs at this point and if you are a first time visitor you should feel no obligation to participate in the offering The pastor’s message will last about thirty minutes. We end with a closing song and a time of commissioning, some people remember it as the benediction. The entire service is about 60 to 75 minutes in length.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE SERVICE ENDS?

Immediately following every service and after the closing commission is offered, we have a special Prayer Time for those who wish to request prayer for themselves or for others that they know. It is up to you if you wish to participate.

We also serve fresh coffee in the foyer after the service so feel free to grab a cup and hang out with us for a little while.
